2006 in Review
2006 was the first year for the Picture Michigan Blog. It turned out that while it was an easy way to update everybody of our activities, I think sometimes we barely scratched the surface.
Further, I wanted to begin the new year by highlighting my top ten favorite images from 2006. Frankly, impossible!
Instead, our 2006 year in review will be just a handful of random images. Sort of a top eleven, but not really the top.
Every wedding we shot was absolutely beautiful on its own accord, but not every wedding made the Blog. No mention of published work. Not a single portrait session made the Blog. Only two engagement sessions made the Blog. Yet they were all spectacular! You can appreciate, I'm sure, it is simply impossible to present a Top Ten.
We'll call this the Top Fifty, a random selection. Yeah, it's a copout! :)

Heather & Jesse's rainy-day wedding. They're smiling, and it's genuine!

Jeanne & Jesse's sun-soaked wedding on the beach. What a great looking couple of Californians!

Fireworks after a Tiger game at Comerica Park. The Tiger's defeated the Cardinals on this night.
Can we pretend this was the world series?

Tim & Jordan's wedding reception was at the Urban Institute of Contemporary Arts.
In this gallery Jordan is pictured with a wedding-dress woven tapestry.

Lisa & Josh were married in Middleville and celebrated downtown Grand Rapids at the BOB.
Here is Lisa mere minutes before she becomes Mrs.

Kiesha & Dave, from the Detroit area were married on Mackinac Island.
The Victorian fairy tale of two Doctors in love.

Chris & Nancy at the Crowne Plaza, debating over the remote control already.
(okay, for the record, we staged this!) :)

Tim & Holly were married when a tornado touched down in the neighborhood.
Holly keeps an eye on the weather.

Bond Falls in the autumn. Yeah, the Picture Michigan color-tour assignment started in an early October winter storm.

Here is Alysa and one of her high-school senior portraits.

Ben & Kristen, our two Lawyers in Love from DC were wed on Mackinac Island.
This shot of Kristen is an award winner from the Wedding Photojournalist Association.
And speaking of the WPJA, we announced a few months back my acceptance into this very selective and prestigious association. I am proud to announce that my lovely and talented wife Lu has also been accepted into the WPJA. Congratulations to Lu!
